VIETNAM WAS THE GREAT ADVENTURE OF MY GENERATION

Phan Thiet Hotel and Golf Course 2001

Left picture is the MACV at PhanThiet. It was and old Vietnamese hotel. The right picture is an Ox cart with a container full of Nuoc Mam. The nuk Mom factory was 3 buildings to the North. This part of Phan Thiet had the smell of Nuk Mom. Awful!! The smell even got into our clothes. Nuoc Mam was a type of Soy Sauce but was made from rotten fish. The Vietnamese would put it on their rice. We would have dinner with the Vietnamese observers once a month. The dinner would be in a Vietnamese restaurant. Most of us got sick from eating Vietnamese food. We would invite the observers to dinner with us at the MACV ones a month. We were told that they would get sick from eating our food.
